This initiative was aimed at modernizing a 15-year-old legacy application suite into a scalable, cloud-agnostic SaaS platform. The transformation enabled the client, a leading K-12 EdTech services provider, to support thousands of tenants and millions of users while maintaining flexibility for future deployments in either cloud or on-premise environments. The new platform was designed using microservices architecture, which allowed for faster, more agile development cycles and seamless updates.
The team utilized Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to break down the monolith into independent microservices, making the platform highly scalable and resilient. This transformation not only allowed for enhanced operational efficiency but also provided a secure and compliant environment suitable for government institutions. Additionally, the platform featured a comprehensive security architecture leveraging AWS tools like WAF, GuardDuty, and Shield.
